Friday, 15 April 2016

Today is 15 April 2016

The DA is currently still in Council.
Council is trying to get through as many as they can quickly.
Had to push back front of house from 6m to 6.5m - which is nothing. There was no concern there.
Fingers crossed this will pass shortly.

Neighbours either side have started works on their property.
Not happy that they have encroached on the block. Just been keeping an eye on it. They have to make good either way.

Have gotten quotes for fencing to rear fence that adjoins an existing property.

Other blocks in development have re-sold recently - but I have been told that our block is one of the best picks several times. Some owners of other blocks are going to go back on the market due to OSD requirements.

The OSD is not an issue, a small retaining wall has to be put in place, this would have to be done, either way.

Over Easter we obtained a current brick sample 'Engage' this sample is darker than our original pick, and the colour board at Colour Selections, nothing can be done as this is 'natural variance'.

The New Year - January 2016

So, this is where we are at.

1. OSD (Onsite Stormwater Detention) drawings are in the 'process' of being drawn up - should take 2 weeks - we signed off on the 'process' happening 1 week ago today, the block was not saturated 2 weeks ago when it poured for most of the week. So I don't know why we will require the OSD - when ALL downpipes go into 10,000 litre water tank to be used in the home for toilets and washing. I could understand if the land was across the road, those blocks are like a mud bath, but hey thats what you get for buying a sloping towards rear block, on the low side of the street.

2. Apparently McDonald Jones have 'all' the paperwork.

3. We have received correspondence for block across road and one down for review from council. NO OSD papers attached. Cant understand why this one is so far ahead - when we hear through the grapevine that their builder is going to start a class action against council and developers. Good luck with that. We gather this builder has at least another 10 blocks that we hear are going to have significant costs involved with OSD construction - some figures thrown around $50k for these ones.
